FERS Employees retiring from now until December 31, 2013 can add half of their sick leave to their retirement annuity calculation.  Remember: Sick leave does not stand alone - 6 hours equals a day and the total is added to time worked to calculate how much you get.

FERS Employees retiring after Jan 1, 2014 can use 100% of their sick leave in the retirement annuity calculation. 

Sick leave cannot count to make you eligible - just give you more money each month in retirement.
